Vice-President: Patricia Shakesby
Living in Tewkesbury, Patricia has been able to support Worcester Philharmonic Orchestra over many years. She started her career at the age of seventeen in the West End Production of Where the Rainbow Ends, co-directed by Noel Coward and Anton Dollin. Following this, she went straight into fortnightly rep!
Over three decades, she made many stage appearances in London, played leading roles in repertory classics, appeared with the Royal Shakespeare Company and performed in pantomime.
Patricia is best known for playing Polly Urquhart in the series Howard’s Way. She has made many other television appearances, including major roles in War and Peace, Brighton Rock, Casting the Runes, Late Starter, The Pity of it All, Sapphire and Steel, Twelfth Night and Yes Minister. However, she is never allowed to forget that, at the age of seventeen, she was an original cast member of Coronation Street.
As well as all this, Patricia has also done extensive radio work, which she enjoys enormously!
