40th Anniversary Season

The Worcester Philharmonic Orchestra marked an important milestone in 2012, the 40th Anniversary of the Orchestra’s independence having existed prior to that date as a Local Authority evening class.

Apart from 2012 being an Olympiad based in London, the year saw the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.  We thus took the opportunity to celebrate these three occasions in our concert season culminating in a festive June concert. Music by the Strauss family featured in our traditional New Year’s Viennese Concert when we were joined by Susan Black (soprano).  Fairy Tales provided the stories behind the music for our Family Concert in March.

We hope you will be able to join us for the 2015 season of concerts which includes a celebration in music to our former conductor Joan Best. The concert features international piano soloist MARK BEBBINGTON, Joan's former music pupil.  Our ticket prices, with a discount obtainable by enrolling as a Friend include four concerts for the price of just three concerts.  Full details available on the Friends link on the Home Page.
